how did you come up with the name of your blog we were arguing for hours after deciding to start blogging together because we couldn't agree on a name. eventually we chose xvii for some weird reason we still don't know... when where you introduced to fashion i don't think we have been yet. we are still uncertain what fashion is. but we like to believe that fashion is whatever you consider fashion to be. how do you describe your styles i guess it's a mix of preppy and trashy. we love random combination's of clothes that most people find ugly, and also clothes that still don't make sense after looking at them forever.

what made you start a fashion blog well, we wouldn't say it's a fashion blog. the reason we started to blog was because we love to take photos (and also to pose, lol) and we wanted a place where we could show our photos. another reason was because we had too much time and very few plans. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world hopefully more than other fashion blogs dohow is your style different than everyone else it's not. but it is not similar to everyone elses either. who is your inspiration ugly clothes on pretty people (not necessarily obvious prettiness but pretty as in having something extraordinary) what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog we want them to have the same feeling as when you first realize you have a crush, you know..? how is your favorite designer don't have one. designer clothes often become tedious because of the hype. we like second hand clothes better.

what
piece is a must have in your closet
a pair of good tights. was that a bad answer? haha. but no, all of our clothes are must haves. one thing we would have a hard time living without is our docs. so i guess that's a must have in our closet.

how did you come up with the name of your blog I don't really remember how I came up with the name of my blog, but I do remember having a hard time with it, because I couldn't decide anything original and new! Some of the blogs I read, for example Fashiontoast and Leflassh, they all have really original names.. I couldn't do that, so I just ended up using something with my name.
how do you describe your style I love layering, waist-belts, super skinny jeans, and cropped jackets! I also like to mix cheap and expensive things. Think I could say that I have my own style, because even though all the items I wear are pretty simple, nobody else wears them the way I do.
I also like to think that my style is pretty nice, but at the same time I always like having a little tough/rough looking twist, for example piercings, or when I get older I'll get a few tattoos, but of course not too much. I like to be girly and a little tough at the same time too.
what made you start a fashion blog I wouldn't really call my blog a fashion blog, because I also write about myself and the daily things I do, or concerts I see.. but it all started when I started looking at other blogs, I really enjoyed it, so I decided I should start something too.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world
Can we leave this question out, because I don't know how to answer it? :D
how is your style different than everyone else
I don't always follow the latest trends, I mostly buy/wear clothing that suits me, even if it's not exactly 'hot' right now. As I already mentioned before I like to combine cheap clothing with expensive.
who is your insperation I get inspiration from my mum, music, magazines, of course lookbook, and sometimes I just look at my closet and come up with something totally new without any inspiration or ideas haha.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog Of course I want to leave a good impression! I hope they like the way I dress, and I hope my blog will entertain people, so they would come back for more.

how did you come up with the name of your blog I think I spent a couple of days on the name. I wanted some cute but not too cute, which is I guess like me and my style. My friend told me to write down all the things that I liked and in different categories. I did that and Clouds of Tulle was born...
how do you describe your style I don’t think I have a particular “style”. I usually just put on whatever I think of first or whatever makes me feel good on that particular day. If I had to label it something I guess I would have to say urban chic.

what made you start a fashion blog My friend got me into reading fashion blogs Align Leftand when she started one, she convinced me to have one myself. And I have to say, it’s quite fun.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world I hope that I bring a sense of “grounded” style, where you can still look nice without breaking the bank. how is your style different than everyone else I think everyone has they’re own style, it’s just what they project. Two people could be wearing the same exact outfit and still look totally different, I think that’s what is amazing about clothing, it brings out the inner you who is your inspiration MK + A Olsen, Japanese street style, and my fellow fashion bloggers of course! what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog I hope that I leave them a refreshed feeling and inspired to experiment with clothing. And that not everything has to be an arm and a leg for it to look good.

Part II
what is the name of your line and how did you come up with the name.
Luuk is founded by me and my boyfriend, Martin. At first we came up with the name Look, of course that was original, and at the same time we had a common belief that fashion was "all about U", U as in yourself, so we changed the 'O's in LOOK to 'U's. LUUK!
describe the vibe/style of your LUUK brand We always want to give off this fun vibe and surprise factor that is different from other brands. We try to do that through our photos, so we put in lots of efforts in finding shoot locations and sometimes props. We hope our photos can speak a thousand words for our clothes and designs.
how long has the label been available to the public Luuk has been available since June, so we are still relatively new and have alot more to learn about!
if so, how does your blog help or hurt the promotion of your line.I feel my blog and Luuk generally give off the same vibe and Luuk's designs basically speak alot about my personal style and vice versa. My blog can definitely help my customers and readers understand and appreciate Luuk better.

who is your target market We love girls who are not afraid to have fun and experiment with fashion! Although we are situated in Singapore, we welcome with loving arms, people from all over the world! and you don't have to be rich to shop at Luuk, you could get our awesome sequin jacket for as low as US$20:)).
are you the sole designer or do you have a team behind you
Currently we do not design our clothes, rather we source for them overseas. However, we are currently looking into designing our clothes for the near future, we are really looking forward to it!
what are some of the challenges of launching an independent line We definitely do not have the budget to compete with the big online retailers or put up advertisements. So we rely mostly on facebook, twitter, lookbook, my blog to gain exposure. and of course we could rely on our friends, who would help us spread the love for Luuk, and their friends of friends would buy from us and spread it to their other friends and friends. it's a long chain. so if you're reading this and you like Luuk, show us some love on Luuk's facebook here! BE OUR FAN
where do you see your line in 3-5 years We paint rainbows for Luuk's future, it's an amazing scene. We see our very own boutique store, not too big a place, nice and cosy with this great youthful vibe. We'll have all our wide range of clothes and shoes and stuff hanging from rainbows on the first floor, and there will be great music to accompany our stylish customers while they shop. We'll give out free candy floss at the door and have plenty of photos hanging from big trees, photos of us and of our great customers who will become part of our lives. They'll come hangout at our lounge/office at the second floor and try on our chic designer clothes and they'll buy. then we'll all sit by our big angelic white cushioned sofa and chat over a cup of freshly brewed coffee and then life goes on...

So shop at Luuk cos you do wish for this beautiful dream to come true, don't you?

what advice do you have for those with the passion to start their own line
The journey is long and difficult and amazing all at the same time. Persevere for you will reap great rewards and experience.
who is your photographer. you have amazing picture on both your blog and your online store. Thank you! Luuk's photographer is mostly Martin, but for our first collection "wild child", we had our friend, Genevieve took my photos (she's awesome). Martin and I have great chemistry. We have lots of fun during photo shoots so the results can sometimes be better than we expected:)

Thank you so much for interviewing Luuk, we adore fashionjinx too! We would like to give all fashion jinx's readers 10% discount when they shop at Luuk! Just enter discount code "LUUKLOVESFASHIONJINX" to enjoy this privilege!

Family I am so excited...we are building a social website...MobileNaxion...Wich is free
and allows you and your friends to upload share and comment on pictures and videos
right from your mobile phone. This is a stand up of what one of the pages will look like...
I had to share this with you and I'll let every one know when its up and running...i hope
you all love it...

how do you describe your style Right now it's slightly undone with smokey eye make-up and chunky accessories...but it's constantly changing. :)

what made you start a fashion blog Last summer I was bored and had been reading so many fashion blogs I thought I would start my own.

what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world My goal is not really to "bring" something to the fashion blog world...I just enjoy sharing outfits and inspiration with anyone who cares to check on my blog. :)

how is your style different than everyone else I usually follow my own instincts when it comes to putting together outfits and don't attempt to completely recreate another person's outfit/style.

who is your inspiration I pull inspiration from lots of different sources!

what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog I don't really have a particular "goal" in what my readers take away from my blog. Whether they love it or hate it, I appreciate everyone who stops by and comments and enjoys fashion as much as I do!

Thanks so much,

Melissa Sex & Coffee

Part I how did you come up with the name of your blog Life is short, I have to record every detail of my life to know if I'm living life to the fullest. Live fast, die very oooold. So I named it after myself, Jacinda Yee. when where you introduced to fashion I can't really state when, but since young I loved shopping for clothes. I kept buying and buying, but i never could figure out where my style was heading. That's when I got really interested in fashion and started experimenting with different stuff in an attempt to pursue that unique style. how do you describe your style I can't really put a name on my style. but mostly i love edgy and sexy. Clothes that enhance a woman's curves eludes so much confidence, it's gives you this sexy superhero power, it's insane. but then again as I depend on my mood wayyy too much, i have developed a love-hate relationship with my fashion style. There would be some days where i'd be so enthusiastic about dressing up, even if i'm just going out to get a drink. And there would be some days, very seldom but it does happen, when I would dress down so much you wouldn't even recognize me. However, when people do recognize me, i'd feel so embarrassed and regret every minute of it, promising myself to never let laziness get the better out of me haha. i'm still working on it.
what made you start a fashion blog Mine's not really a fashion blog. I blog mostly about my daily life, fashion inspirations and everything else that I'm interested in. I love that my readers can discover and be inspired by my personality, style and fashion sense through my the photos I blog of my daily life. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world I think I definitely brought peace to the fashion blog world. as well as the attention of the great fashion jinx and all you other fashion lovers.
how is your style different than everyone else To me, fashion and personality goes hand in hand, they're inseparable. The way you walk and talk and carry yourself definitely plays a part in developing your unique fashion style. I think i kinda possess this weird happy crazy quality (and sometimes i sexy talk) and i don't really care about the way i walk and talk. you know what i'm saying? girls who are too uptight with their looks and obsessed with looking great in every photo, should relax. your beauty and style will come naturally then. who is your inspiration Oh there are so many! First on my list would be Audrey Hepburn, her classic style never dies. and then it would have to be edie sedgwick!, alexa chung, arvidabystrom.blogspot.com and karla from karlascloset. Also, i get alot of my inspiration from lookbook, wildfox, cobra snake and tumblr blogs! oh and BETTIE PAGE for her awesome sixties sexiness.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog I want them to feel that fashion can be so enjoyable, especially when photos of daily life (even at the supermarket) doesn't turn out to be just you looking happy & smiley, but with you looking so terribly chic & enjoying in that moment, that's the best.I would like all my readers to do it too! It doesn't mean you have to overdress, you can look chic in t-shirts and shorts too:) who is your favorite designer I wouldn't say I have a particular favorite, but i definitely like Dolce and Gabbana, Marc Jacobs, Matthew Williamson, of course Karl Lagerfield and Christophe Decarnin (wow wow). what piece is a must have in your closet A versatile basic top or bottom that goes with everything, as well as a statement jacket or blazer. yes, and statement shoes are a must.

my new find...

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

how did you come up with the name of your blog its actually a nick name that I've been using since the beginning of the virtual time. as cheesy as it sounds, but it actually came to me in a dream-yes,really.

when where you introduced to fashion I've never realized that i knew fashion till i understood arts and design..does that make any sense? how do you describe your style maybe my readers should help me answer this. half the time i don't even know what I'm wearing. i just go with my instinct. i like a little of everything, I'm pretty indecisive.

what made you start a fashion blog
initially i wanted to start an online shop, getting rid of some beloved items. well, lets just say its not a good thing if you're still emotionally attached to it, i ended up bailing that idea by keeping them and came up with a blog instead.

what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world
a lot and nothing. i hope i allow people to see what i see in my own interpretation.
how is your style different than everyone else
its not really that different i would say ,its basically the same shit but a different smell altogether. is that too vulgar?
who is your inspiration i get inspired a lot by sub cultures especially music
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog I'm not here to change the world so something positive will do :)
who is your favorite designer at the moment-Gareth Pugh what
piece is a must have in your closet

black leggings,gloves and garters.

how do you discribe your style I think I don´t have just one style, I`m eclectic, I love change, I love a lot of styles, but above all i love simplicity, and i'm crazy about bags.

how is your style different than everyone else I don't think I'm different, maybe I just have a good eye for fashion, and I really love garments.
who is your insperation Nobody in particular, but I travel a lot and i love look for tendences and pay attention to the street-style.

how did you come up
with the name of your
blog
There's a scene from Scrubs where Elliot says something like, "Sometimes I like to dance like noone's watching...with the curtains closed of course, just in case someone is watching" I loved the irony of it. I'm all about the irony, and contrast, so I remembered it
and randomly came up with the name when I made this blog. when where you introduced to fashion I've always been interested in fashion and dressing up. But actually having a clue?...haha, that probably happened only when I started high school? Of course, looking back, my look and taste have changed a lot, but I think there's been a common theme all along. how do you describe your style Monochrome, without all the accessories. I also dress depending on where I'm going. I like mixing edgy and girly elements, it's all about contrast. Some days a more girly outfit would make me feel confident, and some days I could feel like looking more edgy, it just all depends.

what made you start a fashion blog
I've always loved blogging! I've had some form of a blog since I was 14. I just like being able to jot down and share whatever is inspiring (a lot of which happens to be fashion/model related), to anyone who cares to look. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world Something other than the hip. And I guess it's nice when you see blogs that don't repost the same photos that you see on every other blog. how is your style different than everyone else It's not that different than anyone else who is "fashion-conscious" because I guess we all share each other's ideas and inspiration. I'm not afraid to follow trends, because going out of your way to dress outrageously to stand out isn't as inspiring as being able to capture the room no matter what you're wearing.
who is your inspiration
If it had to be just one person, I'd say Mary-Kate, although I don't exactly think every single thing she does is genius. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog I want them to want to add it to their vault of inspiration!

how did you come up with the name of your blog? Well there is two of us Maggie and Casey.. so MC's Closet kind of just clicked!
when where you introduced to fashion?
thats a toughy...
C: No one in my family really loves fashion like me. But my mom says that when i was 3 years old i would hang outfits all over my room. so i guess it just came to me!
M: No one else loves fashion in my family like I do, I've been designing my sisters outfits since forever
how do you describe your styles?

C: I don't really have just one.. i love the whole vintage rugged look. but also the studded leather rocker look. (those are my 2 favorites!)
M: I have a similar style to Casey, we both love the rocker and vintage side of things.

what made you start a fashion blog?
M&C: Maggie had been browsing around, and we both talk about fashion 24/7 so we kind of just put it together!! what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? M&C: We are trying to let people know that you don't have to be rich and shop at the major designers to be "fashionable". You just have to make something out of nothing! how is your style different than everyone else? M&C: Like i was saying before, we make do with what we have/can afford. so basically everything is one of our own creations. who is your inspiration? M&Chmm, well we love Erin Wasson's and Mary Kate Olsen's laid back syle. Also DVF really inspires us, along with many other famous designers. And of course the fashion that we see on the streets. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? M&C We hope to inspire others to create your own style and run your own fashion sense.. make it your own and use what you have.
Who is your favorite designer?
Wow! this is hard!! M&C: These are ourtop favorites -- DVF, Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta, Gavenchy, Chloe, and many many more.
what piece is a must have in your closet?
probably a black leather jacket, or some item with studs!! Also some kind of vintage boots :) Black jeans are definitely a necessity in a closet.

Love Casey and
Maggie from MC's Closet

how did you come up with the name of your blog? yeah,in the first instance it was for a webshop- that never happened. i am a lazy cat. it was a tipsy story,i thought it was a brillz idea. meanwhile i find it a bit cheesy.
when where you introduced to fashion?
to be honest, i cant remember a special moment or so.i only know that the interest grew esp in the last years.it does fluctuate though.how do you describe your style?lipsticktomboy.yes.
what made you start a fashion blog?
as mentioned, it started out as a test for the shop, and then it grew on me. its fun to meet all the honeypies out there. and yeah, i have no hobbies. hehe. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? hmmm.i hope a few seconds of entertainment.how is your style different than everyone else? nothing of me is original.i am the combined effort of everybody i've ever known.(thanks camille/childhoodflames for the quote) who is your inspiration? mostly musicians and "real" people in the internet and on the street. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? seriousness is way too overrated. beeing a bit nuts is an option. and yeah, mommy loves you kiddos!

how did you come up with the name of your blog?It just popped up in my head like that! I actually wanted to name my blog: Malu's Closet, or Malu's Fashion, but I found so many bloggers who also had their name+'closet' that I decided to use Malu's Fashion to be a little more original haha!
when where you introduced to fashion?
When I was really young I used to play dress up with my sister and wear my moms shoes and clothes all the time. I think my passion for fashion became serious when I went to high school.
how do you describe your style?I don't have a particular style, it's always changing. I always love good basics, combined with a few hot items to spice it up a little. Right now I really love the rockchic look.
what made you start a fashion blog? I wanted to share my fashion idea's, and having a fashionblog is a way to express my creativity. People always asked me where I bought my clothes, or how I made a DIY item, so having a blog also gave me the oppertunity to share that. I also love photgraphy (though I don't have good pictures now because my camera broke)
With my blog I want to inspire and be inspired!
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world?I think I bring my take on fashion, and I hope I can inspire people with my idea's, just like other fashionista's inspire me with their amazing idea's!
how is your style different than everyone else? That's a tough one...I believe that in a way, everyone has their own style. I like to wear whatever comes up in my mind, though I do look on my 'inspiration-board' every now and then for new idea's!
who is your inspiration?
Fashionable people who inspire me are everywhere, but my celebrity inspirations are definitely Alexa Chung, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Peaches Geldof and Olivia Palermo.
8what impression do you want to leave on the people that visit your blog?
I would want people to think: I will definately come back to this blog!

Friday, October 2, 2009

how did you come up with the name of your blog?
It's an Iggy Pop song titled lust for life.

when where you introduced to fashion?
I have always been exposed to fashion, whether I was consciously aware of it or not. In fifth grade I was voted 'Most Likely to Become a Fashion Designer' and in my middle school year book titled me as 'Best Dressed.' I cannot exactly pin point when I caught the flame, but I did so in an early age.
how do you describe your style?
Navajo Gothstitute California Raisin School Girl. I adore fringe, leather, studs, stockings, stilleto boots, crucifixes, cardigans, and distressed faded clothing.
what made you start a fashion blog?
I started my blog in 2006 as my own personal online diary cluttered with my thoughts, ramblings and weekend recaps and not really pointed to any direction towards fashion. I simply started it to document the (watered) down version of my adventures. I think it would be nice to have and reminisce through when I was bored senseless...even though everything before 2008 is now private.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world?
The real question is what I plan to bring to the world at large! Ha-ha. I'd like to deliver the constantly reitterated expression 'Don't Believe the hype.' Wear what you like and do what you feel. Self preservation is a must, never be so open to embrace every ludicrous fashion trend that comes along just because it's this season's cool.
<span style="font-size:180%;">how is your style different than everyone else?
The myriad of styles I wear is what I'm regularly exposed to. I go see a lot of bands ranging from thrash punk to psychadelic folk-so leather, shredded tee's and fringe boots naturally made its way into my closet. Then again I'm extremely studious in school and love Jane Austen (and let's not forget Audrey Hepburn) which influences me to stick to classics and basics. Also living near the beach causes you to own clothing that will bare skin like no other.
who is your inspiration?
What inspires me is music, the 60's-79' era, the way sunlight pours into glass windowsills, dusk and dawn, and largely every-day people in my life that come and go.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? Never judge based on appearances. There's more to people than what meets the eye.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I first wanted to call it something with my name in it (pretty creative, huh? =P) but I couldn't think of anything intelligent that wasn't already out there and so I took my second name - Cindy - and immediately thought of cinderella. I think it kinda fits 'cause it reminds me of fairy tales, dressed and childhood.
when where you introduced to fashion? - I've always been interested in clothes, especially as I child. I would play dress up with my mom's old clothes for hours and pretend to be different characters as I changed clothes. But there was also a time in my teens where I wasn't too much into fashion and just wore what was comfortable. how do you describe your style? It's hard to describe because it's always changing and evolving. I love to experiment with different styles, shapes, looks and materials. That's what makes fashion so much fun to me - I can be somebody else everyday. Overall I'd say I dress pretty feminine and girly but I also like to dress a little more masculine and tough from time to time. what made you start a fashion blog? - I started my blog as a creative outlet for everything fashion related.

I had tons of inspiration folders saved on my hard drive and used to post my outfits on chictopia and I just wanted to have a place to put it all. And it seemed like a lot of fun ^o^
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I don't know if I bring anything unique to the fashion world but I just want to inspire people and share my thoughts.
how is your style different than everyone else? I have no idea. haha. I just wear what I feel like and don't care about other people's opinions too much. If I like something on me I wear it.
who is your inspiration? fashion magazines, bloggers, streetstyle blogs and random people on the street
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I hope a positive one ^o^

I've been following this young goddess for some time now...to be honest she is a big influence to Fashion Jinx...OK there's some what of a fashion-crush. But, after you visit Barkatt-Barbro you will understand....when where you introduced to fashion? I used to sneak into my grandmothers’ attic and steal her clothes; she had quite the collection from her young and stylish days! Then I’d tuck them under my sweater, borrow some shoes and run to the bathroom across the hall to try them on. I think I was about nine or ten at the time. Since then I’ve been quite the shopaholic! I fell in love with the aspect of personal style quite early in my life; I was instantly fascinated, and I’ve been captivated ever since. But, my turning point and introduction to fashion was probably last year. I opened my eyes and saw a whole new world of fashion and style. I think this was mostly because of how well the trends of A/W 2008 suited me and my personality.how do you describe your style?I recently tried to answer a similar question, but I generally don’t like to label myself in any way. However, I would say “romantic rocker meets elegance with a pinch of emotional diva; black edition”. I change a lot; some days I’m all about rock n’ roll, and other days I’ll wear the most elegant dress I can lay my hands on. I guess I have a borderline fashion-personality disorder. What doesn’t change is my love for shoes! what made you start a fashion blog? Actually, I never intended to start a fashion blog! When I started blogging I wanted to share my Norwegian view of the world with others. Fashion just made it more fun! There is so much beauty out there; this is just a way of sharing some of my favorites! what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? Hopefully I bring ideas and inspiration, strong fashion statements and of course my own personality! Generally, I just bring my perception of the crazy/beautiful world of fashion.how is your style different than everyone else? I’m all about black! And I love mixing things up: like for example putting on my dress backwards, using my skirts as dresses and stealing my lovers’ clothes, just to mention some. I’m creative, but I don’t think I’m different from everyone else; I’m just me :) who is your inspiration? Everyone? I don’t have one person that inspires me; but I tend to be drawn to the unknown, the girl in the background, the mysterious and kind of odd girls in random pictures and editorials. If someone is wearing black, I am immediately intrigued! I find a lot of inspiration in traveling, mixing up my own closet, people, my favorite designers, new designers, other bloggers and random pictures. I also love studying people that dare to wear colors and patterns, probably because I usually don’t. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? Preferably a good one! :) I want my guests to see the importance of personal style, because anyone can be trendy! And I would like people to remember both my style and photos, and hopefully re-visit me some other time.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? Everyone has always said I'm 'Doe eyed', and deer are one of my favorite animals; They're so swift and quiet, so I thought Silent Doe was perfect. when where you introduced to fashion? Probably when I was in the womb, haha. My mom has always had an amazing sense of style and always taught me about the fashion world. I think one of my earliest memories was sitting in the bathroom with her kit of Chanel, Ralph Lauren, and YSL makeup sprawled all over the floor having her do my lipstick when I was two years old. I'll always associate bright red Chanel lipstick with that moment in time.how do you describe your style? High fashion goth, haha. I grew up listening to my mom and dad's old goth, punk, new wave and hair metal albums, so I think music and different subcultures has have had a huge influence on my style.what made you start a fashion blog? I've always read fashion blogs, even from the time I was 11 or 12, so I thought 'why not start my own?'. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I think my blog is different from a lot of fashion blogs out there, I post a lot about fashion, but I also post about different photographers, artists and music as well. I mainly feature darker fashion designers, items or collections, but I always like to try to include inexpensive items, because I know no matter how fabulous the latest $800 pair
of designer heels are, not everyone (including myself) can always afford to buy those items. I think there are so many inexpensive designers and brands out there, so why not take advantage of it!?how is your style different than everyone else? I like to mix a lot o different elements to my style; goth, punk, high fashion, old lady stuff, fetish wear, all sorts of different stuff. I love simple colors like black, white, grey, silver, I'm not much of a "color" person I guess you could say, hahaha.who is your inspiration? I have so many different fashion icons it's ridiculous, haha. I get a lot of inspiration from old photos from the late 70's, early 80's of the underground punk and goth culture and musicians. I really love Vivienne Westwood, Gareth Pugh, Betsey Johnson, Siouxsie Sioux, Soo Catwoman, Pam Hogg, ahhh there are so many! I could go on for days about who inspires me!what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog?I want to inspire people to dress and be whoever they want to be, regardless of what other people think. Fashion and art has helped me with confidence in so many ways, and if I can help others with the same thing, that's what I would love most.

Thank you so much!

how did you come up with the name of your blog? it's actually just based on a whim, and i didn't really know where i get them. it sounds a bit cheesy, but it expresses how i like to be colored by my fashion choices.
when where you introduced to fashion? i've liked fashion ever since i were small--toddler, even. i've always remembered people by what they're wearing. As i grew up, i became very fond of styling my friends and browsing the internet for designers and shows. i became very interested in being a fashion designer.
how do you describe your style? My style does not come from a high-end branded stuff. I work with what i got. Hand me downs, thrifteds, bargain sales, but everytime i put on an outfit, i'll make sure it's unique and uncommon! :)
what made you start a fashion blog? i started the blog to see how far my fashion and style grow, and to join the blogosphere, which is a wonderful place to be indulged in fashion.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? i think what i bring is a style that does not need a lot of paychecks to achieve. i show people that even without high end brands, you can still be stylish and chic!
how is your style different than everyone else? I love to add a little indonesian inspired clothing item into my outfit. wether it's Batik, or a handmade butterfly top from Bali, on the whole, i like to dress differently than people would usually wear their daily outfits, and be eye catching!
who is your inspiration? My inspiration is everywhere! the streets, the blogs, the shows, fashion is everywhere.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? Fashion came within yourself and with how you work with what you have! :)

PART II of the Jinx Jean feature...These young ladies where also asked the following... what do you look for in a pair of jeans and what should a pair of jeans do for you? Enjoy the answers and check out their blogs...

I look for the shapes of the jeans - I don't want anything that'll be unflattering... Make my legs look toned under all that fabric! They should also make me feel comfortable. :)Feel free to ask any more questions :)

Mega.
Absolutely Oblivious

In the first place I look for comfort in my jeans. It´s important to choose well the height and that neither are too tight. A basic model could turn in the perfect jeans to complete your look. Then depending on the trends I look for different colors, destroyed, cigarettes, flared, with patches, tie-dey....
A perfect jeans is that one that for the day accompanied of t-shirts obtains an image comfortable and relaxed very sport. More elegant with white shirt and in the night with a good heel it can make you feel very sexy.

Syl
Lady Addict

First, I match it wit everything, flats, heels, tennis, t-shirts, blouses, with sequins, silk or fur it depends on if it is for a night or day look.

Second, Just to fit me perfectly.

Thank you dear!

How did I come up with the name of the blog? Well, It's a bit hard to explain since the blog name is in Hebrew... I call myself "FashionPea" on social networks like Twitter and Modepass because in Hebrew the words "Pea" and "Fashion" are very similar. they contain the same letters only in a different order and that is why I chose to combine them in my blog's name. It is a play on words. How would I describe my style? It depends on my mood and depends on "Who I want to be today?" Some days I feel more romantic and I will chose and other days I try to excentuate my edgier side and I'll go with vests, boots and chain necklaces. What made you start a fashion blog? I started my blog because I needed an outlet to release all the knowledge I had, and the passion for fashion that was pretty much bottled up inside me. I have to say that this need of mine was fulfilled a long time ago, after a few months of blogging, and now it's a different situation. The blog has really evolved and continues to develop in many exciting directions. What do you think you bring to fashion blogging? I think that, like every other blogger, I bring my personal point of view, and my take on fashion. Although I look pretty young, I'm 29 years old and I'm an experienced shopper and dresser for at least 20 years...
I have had my share of 'trial and error' in the fashion department (and still do) and I share my experience and views with my lovely readers. How is your style different than everyone else? Although
I shop in common stores like Zara, Mango, H&M I think that I (as anyone else) add a personal note and personal style to my clothes. The person makes the outfit, and even though I can wear a skirt that was bought by many other ladies I think the way I wear it and mix it with other elements of my wardrobe makes it unique. Who or what is your insiration? My inspiration can be found in many places and it is not just a person or a thing. I am inspired by celebrities and fashion icons (such as the Olsen twins), by fashion editors (like Taylor Tomasi and Giovanna Battaglia), by the urban nature around my, by colors or by my mood at the moment.
What impression would you like to leave on the people that view your blog?
The impression I would like to leave on people is that dressing up is fun, that fashion can spice up your life and doesn't have to be practical all the time - it can also be whimsical and fun. I also want people to know that fashion is related to all fields of life and to my personal life as I show on the blog.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? Before I started my blog I had a Chictopia account where I posted my daily outfits, the name Cocorosa was my Chictopia name, My real name is Chantal and ever since junior high there would always be people who would call me Chanel after Coco Chanel so Cocorosa came a bit from that haha.... when where you introduced to fashion? Oh already at a very young age I would dress up in my mothers vintage dresses that she put in a big wooden box in the attic, and I was always drawing and sketching, with my nose in fairy tale books dreaming away at the illustrations, I went on to study graphic design and after that Fashion design.
how do you describe your style?
I don't think I have a particular style, I really wear what I like and how I feel, I like to mix up different materials and to find a balance between soft and romantic and a edgy look. what made you start a fashion blog?

I started the blog after Chictopia, I wanted to show more of my inspiration, thoughts, my vision on fashion and photography what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I hope I bring some inspiration and ideas and I hope I can show that fashion can be fun and light hearted how is your style different than everyone else? haha, this is a hard question haha, I have no idea actually, I just do what I like and I actually get a lot of inspiration from everyone else who is your inspiration? I get my inspiration from a lot of girls on the blogs, but also magazine editorials what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? Oh I really hope that people get inspiration and ideas and not only in fashion but in photography as well :)

love,
Chantal

I have a Jean fetish, i need help...a straight heterosexual man, with great taste (i must add) is in desperate need of of The Fashion Jinx family. So, i called on some of my most closest and dearest Jinx Relatives for some help... This is only part 1(one), I've called on many family members for help with my obsession....I asked then two questions ;what do you look for in a pair of jeans? and what should a pair of jeans do for you? And by their answerer's, i can tell they are just as addicted to jeans as i am. Enjoy, JINX....
To me it´s very important that a pair of jeans has a perfect and tight fit, a skinny leg and the right length. I like jeans that are either really ´clean´ or very destroyed. My go-to washes are dark grey and medium blue, so I always check those out first.

A perfect skinny jeans makes me feel confident and sexy, but all in a casual way.

x! Yara This Chick's Got Style

An obvious staple to closets everywhere, sometimes, trying to find the perfect pair of jeans can feel as untouchable as finding the Holy Grail… but when it comes to perusing the aisles, for me, it definitely boils down to a proper fit, comfort level, the fluidity of movement, and detailed lines/cut for my body type.

Let’s be honest, the best pair of jeans need to love me, which is code for… they should make my ass look good.

First of all, my jeans need to be comfy. I wear jeans almost every day, so that's really important for me. Most of my jeans are regular fit, and I really like jeans with a mix of baggy and skinny. They look good and are comfy. I especially love the ripped jeans. I look for jeans that have a boyish look but still look feminine on me. I always look for something different on my jeans, because I want to have my own independent look.

A pair of jeans have to look feminine on me. When I wear a pair of jeans I really like it that my legs look longer. I have a curvy figure, so I don't want my jeans to make my hips look larger. After all jeans need to make you beautiful, so they have to express and improve your body parts.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? It basically came from one of my favourite books: Alice in Wonderland, I've been enchanted by it ever since I was a child. when where you introduced to fashion? I think it was relatively late, as it was after finishing high school that I naturally became more fashion conscious and shown more interest in it. how do you describe your style? I think it is quite varied. One day it can be very feminine, another it's very girly and cute. I am a skirt and dress addict and I hardly wear any trousers!

Shift dresses and cute little retro dresses are definitely my staples no matter the season of the year. I love the nautical theme, which is an epitome of a summer outfit for me. Another big part of my style is rock chic, which is probably influenced my the music I listen to...it's in a way expressing my music taste and I really enjoy heavy accessories and rock girl garments. what made you start a fashion blog? I've been watching other people's style blogs for some time and I have been very inspired by them. Apart from that I really felt the urge to share my style with people, so it just came to me naturally. Last but not least I wanted to participate in the blogger world more and exchange with other bloggers culturally. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I guess it's a little bit of my quirky style with the hint of childhood imagery and a bit of my magical world. how is your style different than everyone else? I guess it's the case of putting clothes together in unexpected ways plus my inborn style that contributes to my style being different than others'. who is your inspiration? I love Alexa Chung, Fearne Cotton and Kate Moss' style. They're my style icons, but a lot of times I'm also inspired by the people I see on the streets and blogs. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I want them to feel inspired and indulge them in a little piece of childhood, that's so essential in all of us.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I didn’t want to give my blog any minor name. The name should have something to do with me. “Coloured Footprints” is like a way. It accompanies me and it goes along the same lines as I do. The posts are like “Footprints”. Writing them is like leaving a trace. But the posts I write aren’t any articles which I compose but rather they are articles filled with my “coloured” thoughts, ideas and experiences.
when where you introduced to fashion? Oh, my sympathy for fashion starts when I were very young. As a child I spent most of my time making clothes for my Barbie dolls instead of playing with my friends. I wanted that my dolls have their own special clothes and not the same as all the other dolls from my friends. And now as a teenager I prefer to read fashion magazines instead of my school books. I am completely and utterly obsessed with fashion. I love to design my own clothes and to sew them, but the results are often not as I had requested. But “practice makes perfect” :D My biggest dream for the future right now is to become a fashion designer.
how do you describe your style? I describe my style as ever changing depending what’s on my frame of mind. I don’t have any “all time” favourite style wise, because my preferences are changing every 4 month, I guess. I love to mix up different styles. Sometimes I choose smart and female clothes combined with Vintage style, and on other occasions I am just wearing a baggy t-shirt, sneakers, shorts and loads of accessories. But I always have a try at getting a personal touch.

what made you start a fashion blog? I started blogging in order to show the world a little bit of my lifestyle. I really like to write about random stuff that apparently matters to me for some bizarre reasons. I love to write about fashion, art, design, poetry, music and photography. I also love drawing, sketching, composing poems and I never leave the house without taken my camera along. I think a blog is the perfect way to put all of my ideas, thoughts and pictures into one spot.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I think at the moment I do not bring that much to the fashion blog world. I just decided to do something about my ideas and collections of pictures and I hope that my blog will offer people some inspiration.
how is your style different than everyone else? In my mind, fashion is a means of expression. With an unconventional outfit you are radiating self-confidence, independence, creativity and happiness to try out new things. It is a display of style and personality. My style is different in the wise how I join my clothes. I love to combine current trends with basics or vintage stuff. I am fond of going to flea markets or scouring the attic for old jewellery.
who is your inspiration? My inspiration is everywhere. I think inspiration surrounds us all the time in

countless forms. The only difficulty is to capture it and make it your own. I always have my eyes open in order to locate new things, I have always thousands of ideas and always love working with everything creative. I started blogging after being inspired by several fashion blogs, especially the Scandinavian ones. I am also inspired by fashion magazines, art, photographs, music/music videos, fashion shows and even by just watching people at the pedestrian zone. I can sit for hours on end finding inspiration on blogs and sites like lookbook, flickr or deviantart without getting bored.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? The impression I want to leave on the people that visits my blog is that I am a nice person with a creative vein, haha :P I hope my blog posts make up an juicy inspiration page full of conceptions, that continue to inspire other people all over the world, and they feeds the visitors with all what they want in such a way as to keep coming back for more. :)

how did you come up with the name of your blog?my blog came from eating the "juicy fruit" whilst thinking of a blog name. how do you describe your style?
My style would probably be a mix of grunge, chic, vintage. There's never really a particular style as I just dress to what I feel :)

what made you start a fashion blog? I wouldn't consider my blog a fashion blog as it's a mixture of my life, what goes on around me, my likes/dislikes, rants but occasionally I'd throw in my opinions on different fads, trends, outfits, purchases. :) what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? The fact that you don't need YSL, Balenciaga, Alexander Wang or Phi to look good. how is your style different than everyone else? I wouldn't say it's different .. lol who is your inspiration? Definitely Fashiontoast, Alexa Chung and Erin Wasson. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I'd like to leave the impression that I'm not the world's best dresser nor do I have the best style but I dress according to what I like. I'd also like to be a little inspirational with the photos I take :)

This is the topping of fashion Sundae's...check out my girl Nicole of "CHERRY MAGAZINE".... how do you discribe your style? it's mixed up and it changes ALL THE TIME :) haha

align="center">what made you start a fashion blog- oh? I had a love for writing as well as fashion but I didn't have time for a full time internship at a fashion magazine so I started the blog to satisfy my intense cravings to write about fashion.

">what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? hm, the fashion blog world is so vast sometimes I wonder if I bring anything new at all. But I would like to think that it is my own view and experimentation of fashion from a slightly more budget point of view. Plus, I like to showcase the styles and fashion talents in Singapore.
how is your style different than everyone else? I won't say it's completely different, but I guess it's unique because it's me? Haha, the person wearing the outfit is more important then the outfit itself because he/she brings the outfit to life and adds personality to it. who is your inspiration? Usually strangers I meet on the street or see on street style blogs what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I want them to feel happy!

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

how did you come up with the name of your blog? My character is a collective of everything that does and has inspired me. The blog name, "The Fragrance Separate to the Flower", comes from Broadcast's song 'I Found the 'F'' (with one word changed, subtly). They have become the primary focus of my lyrical inspiration, and thus was born my blog in their name. when where you introduced to fashion? I was never introduced to it, I was born to it, I guess. My mother has always paid great notice to the way that we dress, so I suppose it was a matter of slow progression IN fashion rather than a new found interest.
how do you describe your style?A successful escape from the lion's den. what made you start a fashion blog?I never started a fashion blog. My blog is actually completely and entirely focused on my artistic progress and on the art that I produce at very specific intervals in my life. However, I started posting on Lookbook.nu about a year and a half ago, now. And I think I started posting because Yuri emailed me on Myspace offering me an in on the site when it just started and I was so interested by the pretty faces and innovative outfits worn by the original members, that I decided to get in on it myself. I'm one for creative environments. It brings out both the best and the worst in people and I love that dynamic so much. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? A breath of fresh air.
how is your style different than everyone else? Haha, I may be completely modest, but I wouldn't go so far as saying that my style is different. It's quite similar to many others. I think the point of difference, however, is that I dress myself and I wear my clothes comfortably and proudly. I don't look inadequate or eager in my clothing nor do I try to set myself apart. It's the clothes I wear on my back and that's all it is.

who is your inspiration?
Ah, the question of all questions. I'm inspired by many people and many things. I've been inspired by the words of Renoir (but never by his art, ha!), the philosophies of Nietzsche and Foucault, the aesthetic of Goya and the humour of Wilde. I'm inspired by shapes and by colours, by people and by places. I'm all over the map, and I think that it's important to be so rather than have a concentrated source of inspiration. My prolific sources of reference and inspiration, inspire in return a diverse body of work and head of ideas.what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? That I'm dangerously modest and impossibly eager. I want people to give me constructive criticism and objective opinions. I want people to see, observe and maybe even to fall in love. That would be nice.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I'm a little embarrassed--when I first joined Wardrobe Remix I needed to think up a Flickr name in a hurry, so I just went with my old AOL instant messenger screen name, Liebemarlene. And I came up with that when I was 18 and obsessed with Marlene Dietrich and everything German. Now I kind of wish I had a different name, though I'm so bad at coming up with titles that who knows what I'd end up with. how do you discribe your style? It's pretty vintage-based and romantic . . . I wear mostly vintage because it's easiest to come by where I live in the South, but also because I'm really inspired by old movies and fashion of the '30s and '40s. So I end up wearing mostly dresses and skirts--I don't look good in pants or anything too minimalist or modern, as much as I wish I could.

what made you start a fashion blog?I started up the blog in 2007, soon after I started my ebay store, just as a place where I could show photos of what I was selling and write about inspirations. I didn't even plan to post outfit photos or do much writing of any kind on it, but it really is easy to get hooked on blogging . . . what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? Oh, probably just a lot of old-fashioned photos and ramblings about old movies, and once in a while an outfit post. how is your style different than everyone else? I don't think it really is--there are lots of girls who wear mostly vintage and do a wonderful job of it. I guess I just try to mix up the decades a little--right now I like wearing '50s dresses with socks and platform sandals. My goal is to take inspiration from vintage looks without actually looking like I stepped out of a vintage photo.

who is your insperation? I'm inspired by a ton of fashion bloggers, street style sites, old movies. As far as one person goes, I have to admit that I follow Alexa Chung's fashion spot thread religiously. I love the way she mixes up favorite labels of mine (A.P.C., Lover . . .) with vintage and casual elements.
.what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I really hope that I come across as my real (and nerdy) self, not as some inhabitant of fairy tale fashion blog land. I love fashion, but I like other things better (old movies, Southern history), so as much as I'd love to be a fashion inspiration, I'd be happier hearing that my blog inspired a girl to, say, go to the library to check out a book on Reconstruction or to just indulge her inner nerdiness.

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

I would like to introduce to some, but i'm sure if you've been on Lookbook you know the name and the face. Julia "Jewels" Monson a.k.a 'BO" one of the top queens of LOOKBOOK...now she is about to take over the blogspot relm of fashion... with her self titled blog JULIA-MONSON...check her out and join her world...
how and when did you get introduced to fashion? Hmm, I'd have to say through modeling was how I was introduced to fashion. However I was never really 'introduced' to fashion, I mean, at the age of 5 I was fighting with my Mother over wanting to wear pink frilly tutus to Kindergarden. I think choosing what I wear has always been with me, modeling just made me pay attention to trends and styles more in depth. how long have you been modeling? Since I was 14, only until now am I starting to take it more seriously. how do you discribe your style? My Style is always based on my mood, and my mood is always changing. I can't really describe it other than that. what made you start posting you pictures online? Ahh, to be honest, It was Hannah Sider on lookbook that got me inspired to actually put some of my stuff up. I used to (still) marvel at what she does with Thrift shop items and how she can make ugly pieces into the most beautiful accessories. Also, my photographer friend, Victoria showed me the site and I was addicted instantly. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I don't really know what I bring to it, but my main goal would be to inspire. how is your style different than everyone else? Its not, to be honest. I always try to be fearless--but follow the trends at the same time. Putting my own spin on original ideas to make them original is what I aim for. who is your
inspiration? Right now I'd have to say Agyness deyn (model), my Aunt and Artist, Grace Short, and Sir Karl Lagerfeld. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? That Fashion and art breathe from the same set of lungs.

I caught up with my girl Selena to ask her a few questions, please enjoy... how do you discribe your style? My style is pretty much about simple layering and a lot of black. what made you start a fashion blog? I started a fashion blog because I'd been reading fashion blogs/forums since high school and decided it was time to make my own. I'm also studying fashion design so it makes sense.
what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I bring my own perspective. It's nothing crazy but I don't think that's always necessary. how is your style different than everyone else? My style is different because I try to interpret trends in my own way. who is your insperation? My inspiration comes from people who are effortlessly stylish. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I want people to come away with some inspiration of their own and hopefully for them to look forward to my future designs.

Thank you,
Selena*

how did you come up with the name of your blog? i'm not a big fan of sweet stuff and the only ones i would have would be brownies. it got some sentimental values as my boy loves to bake brownies for me. Another reason is that my friends think the best colour that best describes my skin tone the color of a brownie. when where you introduced to fashion? i was introduced to fashion ever since i was a little girl with a strong infuence from my sister.she never fails to dress up to perfection. i couldn't wait to grow up and buy my own clothes to suit my own style. how do you describe your style? i would describe my style as "all over the place"!! i never stick to the season nor style. i would dress a silk dress with a leather jacket or wear a tutu skirt as a headpiece. i throw on random clothes and just see how it works. what made you start a fashion blog? i remember 'googling' for "fashion blogs" and there i was introduced to hundreds of bloggers blogging on their daily style. that was just enough to make sure i get one too. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? i do not think i do offer much as i do not get the privillage with providing my blog reader with the latest styles, runways or trend. but what i am passionate about is helping in widening the network where all of us(fashion enthousiacts) can share their thoughts and what inspires them on a daily basis.

who is your inspiration i have currently put my focus on fashion bloggers like karla, childhoodflames, fashionispoison and fashtiontoast.they are the few sites i never fail to visit when i switch my notebook on. what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? i would love to be one of those bloggers that inspires their reader with their style.

how did you come up with the name of your blog? I didn't start this blog on my own, there were 3 of us originally so I should give credit to my sister and our friend. We wanted a name which reflects our interest in fashion but at the same time not be confined on that aspect, hence, the word beyond. We simply thought the name would stick easily to any one's mind Style & Beyond how do you describe your style? I did a post about this one actually, my style is a combination of everything I find interesting. I just put things together and don’t limit myself to one. what made you start a fashion blog? I've always been in love with fashion, it's in my blood and basically grew up in that environment. Starting this blog makes me express my creativity and being in NY makes things even better. It's also a diversion from my daily routine. what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? Every single blogger out there is inspired by one or two, I just hope I am one to a few. how is your style different than everyone else? No blogger is the same -- I'm lucky to put together things I own and appear "stylish" to others. who is your inspiration? My boyfriend PJ, my family & friends, my blogroll, and new friends I meet whom I share this passion with – I get inspired all over again.
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? That this-girl-intrigues-me-so-I’ll-be-back-tomorrow feeling J

how did you come up with the name of your blog?
i love cherry. cherry blossoms the flower, cherry the fruit.. loves it.. and then there is a song by The Kills called Sour Cherry. and i just love the way it sounds.. so i use it :) how do you describe your style? i would say my style is really depends on my mood. but it comes down to a simple style but with an edge. well im just being my self anyway and i just love to put things together and see how its going to be :)

what made you start a fashion blog? i dont describe my blog as a fashion blog, because sometimes i also post other things in it.. i just post anything that i like, and apparently what i like the most is fashion. :P what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? hum.. in my opinion, i bring my personal tastes and choices, and i hope it will give people more inspiration :)

how is your style different than everyone else? it's pretty much because of my hair. i used to have a long sleek black hair, and it just kinda of a bore. and when i cut my hair like 6 months ago, everything's change. i look more stylish because of my hair, and as i said before, it depends on my mood and im not afraid of wearing something very girly or very manly at the same time, and i dont wear something that totally doesn't fit my body to only make me look stylish or anything.
who is your inspiration? that's going to be very long. well, i love alexa chung, mischa barton, kristen stewart, emma watson, alexander wang, sienna miller, kate bosworth, i love to read other fashion blogs too. not only people, editorials and great pictures also influence my style. rock stars, culture, and art, ha! basically all the beauty surrounds me ;P

how did you come up with the name of your blog? The name of the blog: "That's my dress" came from random things like my love for dresses: so easy to wear and you don't have to spend half an hour in front of the closet trying to find the right combination...just put it on and go. Also I thought about the feeling I get when I see a beautiful dress at some shop and fall in love with it...:) how do you discribe your style?
My style is kind of all over the place, but I tend to go for elegant, romantic, feminine and chic most of the times.
what made you start a fashion blog? I started my blog because I fell in love with blogs like Fashion toast, The cherry blossom girl, Kingdom of style Cashemier & Soie and many others...at that time I already had a blog in Hebrew, but it wasn't about my personal style, so I decided I should open another one:)

what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? I honestly don't know... with so many great bloggers out there it's really hard to think of something :) how is your style different than everyone else? I know that my style stands out from everyone else's at my hometown, because the dress code here is T shirts and jeans, but in fashion blogging, there are so many styles and fashions, that what makes you unique is how you interpret the trend, wear the same garment, the personal aspect of it... each and every one of us is unique and that is why it it interesting to follow and to see many different people: it varies from one to another...

who is your insperation? I have plenty of inspiration sources: editorials, runways, other bloggers, friends, random people I see on the street sometimes...
what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog?
I only hope people will enjoy reading the blog, see something that awakens interest in them and see how deep my love for fashion and clothes (and shoes!!!)

"I hope you enjoy"...

Family i must say, i fall'n in love again...believe me its not that hard to do, after you take a look at the lovely Wendy Cheng....so, check her, leave a comment and fall in love..... JINX How did you come up with the name of your blog? It was really random. My blog started out with a combination of my initials, which didn't sound too fashionable or anything near at all. I wanted 'BlackCoffee' at first because of All Saints' Black Coffee and the black coffee itself. But it was taken, so I thought of BreadCrumbs, which was also taken. Frustrated, I thought, why not combine both? And that was how I got BlackCoffeeCrumbs. Besides, a cup of black coffee with toasted bread crumbs all over the saucer plate really goes with an issue of Vogue in the morning - really soothing. I wanted my blog to be that way.
How did you describe your style? Anything that looks good on me, basically. Like the famous Hubert de Givenchy said, 'The dress must follow the body of a woman, not the body following the shape of the dress'. It is really true in a sense that, the trend report might reckon round sunnies being the 'It' thing but if it doesn't flatter any features on my face, I wouldn't go for it. So, to look good, for me I would always opt for something more feminine, with a little neatness and clean-cuts, and most importantly looking casually laid-back, at the same time. I don't like being too prepped up or being too trashy. I like it in the middle. I am also more biased towards monotone colours like black, white and my all time favourite, grey. When in doubt, I would always grab grey.

What made you start a fashion blog? Fashion blogosphere was initially made known to me by my sisters, who are also fashion bloggers themselves and my very first encounter was with Karla, Camille of Childhoodflames and Jak&Jil. I was like, 'Where have I been all this while??' After months of being fascinated by them blogs, blogfollowing, blogreading you name it, I finally decided to give it a go. Unlike others, I started my blog with a mission to create affordable styles which are able to stand up on their own without having the labels playing much of a role in it. Other than that, it also serves as a fashion portfolio for myself and to fill up the little time that I have everyday. That pretty much compiled the reason behind the existence of my blog.

What do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? LOL honestly, nothing at the mo. I am still a newbie, still exploring, still unknown. But, I hope to create new styles and new trends with a little artistic feel injected to it. I would love to collaborate both fashion and art into my blog. And, I hope that, by being 'Jinx-ed', I must have brought something to the fashion blog world, am I? Or am I not? *winks How is your style different from anyone else? I don't really consider my style being different from others. I picked up a little bit of here and there and had it made to suit me and my personality. So, what makes it different, would be me, the wearer, I guess :-)

Who is your inspiration? Style wise, I always find Jacqueline Kennedy being an inspiration in the fashion world. She is the epitome of elegance and beauty both combined. Definitely iconic, she is also definitely a trendsetter of the 50's and pretty much determined how formal wear should look like even till now. On a daily basis, I find my mom being such an inspiration in my life. Besides God, I count on her for words of wisdom and life advices. What impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? That I don't bite LOL. Other than that, I would love to inspire people to start a fashion blog or any other blogs and just speak their mind and get creative. I would love if my blog could make people feel as though they've just had a cup of coffee over a fashion magazine.

I've been following the Mannheim, Germany natives for quite some time now...and
i must say, their blog is not just full of eye candy it's a journey. I so appreciate the
time that Ngoc and Laura has given me. "we don't think that our style is new, different or something like that. we don't try to be up to date"... So please enjoy, the two 22 year old minds of 'The Sucking Sucks'
how do you describe your styles
Laura: i adore the color black, cause I always feel it is a form of timeless elegance. Also, I adore the style of the 60ties mods in England and their whole music scene. Ngoc: I love different colours and also non-colours such as black and white. My style is rather simple and clean with a touch of chicness. I love basics.

what made you start a fashion blog
We wanted to start a documentary about our progress focusing on our personal style and our time together. We have a lot in common: we live together, we have the same major and we share the same experiences in sorrow and happiness. We also want to show how diverse our city Mannheim is. The city is known as dirty and repelling - but we love the city and want to show how we perceive Mannheim.

what do you think you bring to the fashion blog world
I don't think we bring a lot of new things to the "blogger world". We don’t write about runway shows or collections because we think that there are other blogs who are better for this kind of stuff like horstandlynn, for example. Our strength is our sense of acting on the spur of the moment. We capture moments that are important to us. We show down-to-earth street style, maybe this is why people like our blog.

who is your inspiration
Laura: I adore the style of the 60ties mods in England and their whole music scene. Movies like “quadrophenia” are a source of inspiration for me. I also try to mesh up this mod glam with my personal view on things. Ngoc: My everyday life is my inspiration. People around me, blogs, the music world and movies also inspire me a lot.

what impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blognice girls, wonderful pictures, interesting stories - pure life ha ha :D

How do i start, first i would like to say I'm so honored to have the privilege to feature this
amazing young lady. The first time stumbled onto her site i was hooked...I'm not sure if
it is the soft tone of her photos or the 70 inspired attire. Whatever it is, it's addictive and
it keeps you coming back day after day. But, please don't just listen to what say...take
a look for yourself. All the way from Hamburg, Germany...Isabelle of Bohemian Musing.
How did you come up with the name of your blog? I thought really putting a stamp onto where the blog would be going. I thought musings would be the perfect description because really, that´s what I´m doing: musings about the beautiful madness that life is. as for the bohemian part: I simply love that era, it can´t be narrowed down to 1900 though, to me a bohemian is more of a free spirit that can be found in every decade.
How do you describe your style? I don´t really like to label myself or my style because this would narrow it down and put borders to where I can go with it. I like to say my style is free spirited because this really is what I live my life by and it allows you to play around a little bit. it´s just clothes, nothing serious. What do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? What do I bring to the fashion blog world.. I hope there is more to my blog than fashion really. I love fashion but it is just a form of self expression that I can find in literature or acting too. right now I´m trying to get to an even deeper level with the blog by publishing some of my literary work which is a very personal step for me. so I´m just being the person that I am including all the quirks on a more public level which I think might encourage others to be more out there too.

What made you start a fashion blog? I always wrote my inspirations down in scrapbooks etc. so I thought blogging would just take it to another level where people could get an insight into my personal notes. How is your style different than everyone else? Ah, tough one. I don´t know, sometimes I just wear a pair of cutoffs and a white tee so you might perhaps think I am going down the wang-path as did every other blogger too lately. For me style is what is behind the surface though. maybe my style is different than others because I´m really comfortable with it an don´t need a label because I know that whatever I wear reflects a different facet of myself. it varies a lot- one day I might dress very 70s according to my mood, the other day I´m embracing my inner tough girl by wearing studs and leather. I´m not just one facet you know, I´m more like a disco ball when it comes to that.

Who is your inspiration? My answer to this always varies. Edie Sedgwick. Daisies. music. models. literature. rock stars. What impression do you want to leave on the people that visits your blog? I´d like to leave you with a scene here from one of my favourite movies 'factory girl' where Andy Warhol meets Edie for the first time and offers her to be in one of his movies. When she asks him what she was supposed to do, he answers 'just be yourself' which makes her laugh and come back with 'which one?'. I think people should stop analyzing themselves and just be who they want to be, whoever that is that day
marita
School. Coffee. Ella Fitzgerald singing Gershwin. Wore my glasses almost all day. Sat outside, it was really warm today. Pernille ran around. Patrick made me brownies, he's such a sweetheart. I made dinner for my good friend Bente, and we sat around till late just talking and gossiping about all over the place. All in all a good day. FLICKR

Natalia Molko
The inspiration for this outfit came when I went to see Sex and the City the movie, when it had its premiere back in 2008. When I’ve seen Carrie, my fashion idol:D, wearing over the knee high socks with argyle pattern on it, I knew one thing: I’ve got to have them! I didn’t want to copy her whole outfit, therefore the only thing for me to achieve was to make them work somehow else. After a couple of trial outfits, it turned out that they’re not so easy to juxtapose;D So instead of setting them with some sophisticated and complicated outfit, I’ve tried an easy option… Hope you like it! I’ve totally fell in love with these socks and its colours…. my favourite colours to use in my outfits. Who would’ve thought I would find them in Primark?! The dress is also from there and it was only 3 pounds on sale!

I've been following the lovely Jessie for some time now,i guess a was attracted
to her dirty rock...that's what we call her style here in St. Louis. It's a combination
of grunge, rock and goth mixed with couture...so sit back, read what she has to
say, click this site Sanity Notebook, post a comment and enjoy...
How do you describe your style? Always a bit hesitant with bright colors, I usually dress in darker shades.I also lean towards slouchy pieces of clothing and mix them with more constructed forms.I enjoy that contrast along with the contrast of thrifted goods with newer ones.
What do you think you bring to the fashion blog world? If anything, I'd like to think I bring some sorts of pieces that people find appealing to the eye-whether it be the slap-together of clothes I’m wearing on a given day or a collage of my personal inspirations.

How is your style different than everyone else? I try to look at both commercial and non-commercial stores, hot brand and vintage spots, mom’s old trunk of clothes, dad’s old college shirt, etc. Really, I guess its the pieces chosen and which items are mixed together that would make anyone different from anyone else.

Who is your inspiration? People from all over. Lookbook.nu is a great inspiration pool. For me, any ethereal creature is paid special attention; I admire people who can throw things on with nothing but (maybe) a glance in the mirror and still come off confident and wicked, sloppy chic.

What made you start a fashion blog? A friend, Frances, introduced me to the fashion blogging world with her discovery of Seaofshoes.com. Before long my mouse was licking links left and right, taking me from one site to another. Inspired by the lot of them, I decided to start one for aesthetic purposes--to give me some new thing to play with when I took a break in between school obligations and social calls.
What impression do you want to leave on the people that visit your blog? It'd be nice for my blog to give off a vibe that would keep visitors coming back.If it be because they like what I wore one day, the design of the site, or the little nonsense posts in between, as long as they enjoy the experience.

Jessie
